A new community mural is being put up in West Berkeley. All East Bay residents who believe in using art as a method of educating and liberating should definitely stop and admire at this collective piece by Berkeley City College students, youth from the Hope Mural Project, and local talented artists and volunteers.

Cultural Encounters: Friday Nights at the de Young Celebrates College Night: Warhol Now and Then: A tribute to Andy Warhol, was an exciting venue to see up-close the works of pop art icon Andy Warhol. The biannual College Night hosts a variety of projects by Bay Area University and college students (including Laney College) and community-based art centers, drawing inspiration from and paying tribute to Warhol's art and techniques.

Documentarian Kirby Dick's new film "Outrage" is a searing indictment of the hypocrisy of closeted gay politicians with appalling gay rights voting records who actively campaign against the very gay community that they secretly belong to. "Outrage" highlights the hidden lives of some of Washington's most powerful policymakers showing the consequent damage that they've done to millions of gay Americans.
