In a record setting spring election last month, ASLC senator Ju Hong won the presidency. "I was so excited and happy. I felt supported because of all of the people that voted for me," said Hong about his victory. Hong was elected with 392 votes to Secretary Courtney Hom's 183.

Students attending the Peralta Colleges voted in favor of "Proposition A: EasyPass" by a landslide. Of the 1048 total ballots counted district wide, 920 students voted in favor while 128 voted against-88 percent of students overwhelmingly voted to keep the Peralta EasyPass program.

A crowd of about 100 people gathered on a cold and gloomy afternoon to protest the lives lost to police killings. The recent killing of Oscar Grant by BART police has unleashed a wave of reaction and protest. The Feb. 6 rally passed peacefully unlike the other protests that have taken place since the killing of Oscar Grant on New Year's Eve.
