Editor--I am writing this letter to convey my concerns about the views your paper is presenting without telling all sides of the issue. The issue I am referring to is the subject of Islam and how your paper presents this religion as peace loving when nothing could be further from the truth! I would like a chance to rebuttal the article by Leah Clark and several Muslim articles that was presented in your newspaper. This paper must be careful to treat religions all the same for what you do for one religion, you might find that in the spirit of fairness, you must do for all. I'm for separating religion from journalism, and in your portrayal of Islam, you left out quite a bit, including gross violations of human rights, i.e. killing of homosexuals, stoning women to death for the crime of adultery, beheading and whipping people without a trial. Do you agree with these things about Islam? You must tell the whole story. I want and deserve a response from you, especially from Leah Clark! Why should we be open-minded about Islam when Islam does not respect the freedom of worship and imposes a death sentence on Muslims who dare to convert to another religion besides Islam? That is criminal. I want to know, did she know this and would she retract any thing about Islam once knowing the truth about this cult.

Harold--As for fairness and equality, the purpose of that feature was not arbitrary, and served to pay respect to the large Muslim population on campus during their most festive time of the year.
We should always be open minded, and ask where our sources are coming from, and why.
I base my moral objections and beliefs on the personal interactions I have with people of any given faith or culture, not from talking heads spewing politicized misconceptions on T.V.

Qais Ahmadi, I would like to congratulate you by protectiong Islam and by showing that it is not what a lot of people perceive it to be. Harold is an example of an ignorant fool and it is very amazing and shocking to realize that such people still exist. (Continued…)

Why don't Qais and Harold just email each other? Or meet for lunch?

I do have a bone to pick with your views regarding Islam (I have many bones to pick regarding many religions).
My question has to with Muhammad being regarded as the final messenger of God. (Continued…)

Scott,

I take it that you have a bone to pick with me to discuss issues that you are interested in understanding. Moreover, I hope you do not mean it to initiate an argument, as arguments are futile and nothing beneficial can be achieved. (Continued…)

Greetings Scott,

1. "Why wouldn't God continually speak to His people through modern-day prophets?"

First, we must investigate what the creed of a true prophet or messenger should be in regards to the Almighty Creator. (Continued…)
